On May 22, Lilit and I had the honour of being hosted by the Literary and Cultural Committee of Hamazkaine in Willoughby, on Sydney’s North Shore, for the ‘Angel of Aleppo’ launch. Given we staged the play from which the novel had its genesis in nearby Chatswood six years earlier, this was a welcome return to the heart of Armenian Australia.

I want to thank Mrs Nora Bastajian and the committee for their dedication to making this even happen, and the Archbishop for attending and offering his support and advocacy for my novel. And special thanks to Anna Berberian, for her beautiful Moush dance, a unique Armenian folk dance expressing sadness at loss and elegaic finality.
